At Bullpen Marketing, we are committed to living and conducting business in a socially responsible way. We know that minimizing our impact on the environment is simply the right thing to do. Ultimately, we hope to inspire those around us—employees, clients, vendors, friends and fans—to do the same.

WHAT WE DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE...

RECYCLE. Even though the building we are currently headquartered in does not offer recycling services, we make the extra effort of sorting our recyclables and transporting them to the nearest recycling facility ourselves. Making a difference doesn’t necessarily spell out convenience, but we know it’s worth the effort.

REDUCE. Working in an office environment gives way to a lot of paper use. Even though we recycle what we do use, we know that cutting back solves the problem at its roots. To reduce our paper usage we have navigated away from mailing paper invoices. Instead we have an electronic invoicing procedure in place (unless clients specifically request otherwise). We also use a paperless fax system that digitizes all incoming faxes and routes them to e-mail. And finally, we provide a lot of our product catalog information online for our clients. However, paper isn’t the only thing we try to reduce. Energy is something else we also are mindful of. In addition to having motion sensor ligting in each office, we use energy-saving devices with auto-sleep settings to conserve energy use.

REUSE. Instead of plastic cutlery and Styrofoam cups, we use silverware and glass containers. Not only does this provide a more homey feel in our kitchen, it reduces the waste in our trash bins. We’re also big users of the filtered water pitcher versus plastic bottles. These measures not only reduce our waste, but are also cost-effective.

OUR PRODUCTS. Bullpen Marketing was the first in Houston to introduce a suite of green promotional products. And we continue to offer our customers alternative “green” products such as biodegradable items, natural fiber products and clothing and reusable containers such as metal tumblers and cotton totes. When it comes to printing, we utilize vendors that are FSC certified and always make sure to suggest recycled paper as an alternative to our clients.
