Colin is a leading marketing advisor for corporations, associations or academic institutions looking to strengthen their marketing effectiveness, presence, and brand. He started Bullpen in 1997 after the entrepreneurial bug finally overcame him.
Prior to becoming President of Bullpen, Hageney was Vice President of Marketing for Hostcentric, one of the largest privately held managed service providers offering a full range of Web hosting services, e-commerce solutions and technology infrastructure. Before Hostcentric, Hageney was Global Marketing Manager for Welcom, an international leader in project and cost management software.
Hageney has been a volunteer with the American Marketing Association (AMA) since 1996 and has served on the Professional Chapters Council (PCC) for six years, including a year as President. This Council of AMA chapter past presidents oversaw all 76 chapters (28,000 members) of the AMA. He served for two years as President of the 1,100 member AMA Houston Chapter (2000-2002) and is presently on the Board. In 2010, Colin was awarded AMA’s International Volunteer of the Year in Chicago.
Hageney serves on the Board of Catholic Charities, the Marketing and Development Council of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Marketing Advisory Board of the Advertising Specialty Institute and the Marketing Communications Committee of the University of St. Thomas. He also belongs to the following associations: the Promotional Product Association, the Advertising Specialty Institute, National Catholic Educators Association and the Better Business Bureau.

Robert Melvin oversees sales and operations for Bullpen Marketing. Prior to joining Bullpen Marketing in 2004, he functioned in several highly visible marketing roles for Sun Microsystems, Bridgeway Software, and Compaq Computer Corporation. It was at Bridgeway Software where he and Colin Hageney met.
Robert Melvin has been a volunteer with the American Marketing Association since 1997 and currently is the Job Referral Director (longest held successive board position in the history of AMA). He pioneered the AMA Houston Job Referral e-Newsletter and evolved it to one of the best marketing job pipelines in the country while helping thousands of Houstonians find jobs.

Lauri Laufman joined Bullpen in 2006 after 20+ years as owner and president of NJC Advertising Promotions. Certified as a Master Advertising Specialist (MAS) since 1991, she truly enjoys working with her clients and networking with her peers.
Helping others and providing attentive care mixed with humor is Lauri’s trademark in all aspects of life. She is a current appointee to the Professional Development Committee of Promotional Product Association International (PPAI) and a past president of Houston Promotional Product Association (HPPA).
Lauri is on the Special Children’s Committee of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, publicity chair for Congregation Emanu El’s Mitzvah Day and volunteers along with her animal assisted therapy dog at Caring Critters and Faithful Paws.

Jan Klein joined Bullpen Marketing in 2011. Her background in sales, promotional products and marketing makes her the perfect fit for our team. Jan’s success is due to her creativity, diligence, follow through and genuine concern for her clients needs.
Before joining Bullpen, Jan was National Account Manager at The Spillman Group, a promotional products company. Prior to that for 11 years she co-owned Heavenly Temptations, a gourmet dessert company. They competed in the Best Bites competition at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Uncorked event and won the competition taking home the silver belt buckle.
Jan serves on the Board of Directors for ChildBuilders and chairs the Special Events committee. She is also a member of the Luncheon and Development committees. Children’s charities have always been near and dear to her heart. She was a volunteer for Child Advocates, Houston for 10 years serving in various capacities including Board Member, Children’s Festival On-Site Finance Chair and Court Appointed Special Advocate. She has one son that recently graduated from Sam Houston State University with double majors in finance and banking.
