Getting In-Sync with your Blackberry
Posted by: Tiffani Davidson
Lots of people have Blackberrys®, but until earlier this month, I was avoiding the technology like the plague. I didn’t want to be a slave to email, I didn’t want to be chained to work. I thought I could do without it. That is, until I started spending more and more time out of the office. Suddenly, it was a necessity. I finally broke down (even though I hated every minute of it).
Flash forward a little over a week, and I am starting to adapt. In addition to understanding what “sync-ing” is and how to “reconcile” contacts, I have learned how to keep it charged, keep it from getting lost (not an easy task on my desk!) and make sure I never miss a call because of “silent mode.” How did I manage all of this? Well, a week ago my boss walked into my office, took a look around my desk, chuckled, and named me “just the person” to test out a new product.
I have dubbed it “the forbidden sample” because I have to push it behind my monitor to keep it from being confiscated by a jealous co-worker. It comes with a cord that you plug into a USB port to ensure it is always powered up and ready to go. The gray area is a rubber-like material that grips my phone into place so that it does not rattle away when in vibration mode. Even better, there are four USB ports (two on either side) that allow me to sync my phone, use my camera and plug in whatever else I might need (iPod anyone?). And for those who like pretty, shiny things, there is a blue light on the front to show that it is active. The imprint area isn’t too shabby either – it can be customized for as low as nine bucks!
Thanks to this little device, I have embraced my new phone. Now if only I could figure out how to download music to this thing…
