Creativity—It’s in the bag!

bag-ykmA bag is a bag is a bag… right?  Wrong.

In the advent of less expensive methods of creating 4-color process bags, really cool designs can be seen in people’s hands all over the street, mall and tradeshow floor.  A logo on a bag used to be sufficient—now they have become head turning billboards with off-the-charts creativity.

Bags (yes, bags) can create awareness for your cause, market your brand and generate excitement for your product or service.  Two-sided designs is so last century—five-sided designs (all fours sides AND the bottom) are the rage.  Enviroconscious?  Not to worry.  Bags come in lots of different flavors and textures – recycled paper and water bottles are the most popular.

Just in Case…

A famous Soviet comedian, in making fun of the blatant absence of consumer goods in Russian stores, called the common string bag, that all Russians carried, an “Avoska.” Avoska means “just in case” – just in case you can find something to buy you have a bag to put it in. The name stuck.

Green is Gold

Everywhere you look these days, we’re being bombarded by words like:  green, eco or earth friendly, enviroconscious.  Is going green hype or here to stay?  Green is the new low-fat and this blogger thinks it’s here to stay

So what does green actually mean other than the obvious? Okay yes, it’s a color or to be more precise, it’s an additive primary color. My 4 year old would tell me it’s a mixture of yellow and blue. Green is closely related to the Old English verb growan or “to grow”. Back in the 80’s it was popular to call money “green”. Green topics are on the covers of most magazines and newspapers around the country, yet everyone struggles with the definition.
